Masses: Another False Security

What is it that people get from the “masses?” Why is it that we actually trust many people’s judgments whom I do not know, nor do I approve of the motivations of their actions (their hearts) just because there are a lot of people who agree on one particular way to go or option?

Do we truly think that highly of our own ability to think about and understand a world that we ourselves cannot even control? We cannot stop earthquakes, Tsunami’s, tornadoes or hurricanes. We cannot even know where the wind blows from or why it blows. And yet, our own (mankind’s) opinions and ability to understand is what we choose to govern our lives with? It seriously almost makes me laugh, if it was not so sad.
