More Thoughts on Taming the Wild
I reread a writing of mine about "Taming the Wild" this morning. In many ways I am struggling again with my purpose here. Not just a generic purpose of "save souls for Jesus" that everyone else says and thinks they are doing that. What do I want? A new movement of people learning this life, the teachings of it, from life, not from books and cirriculum.
When God told Adam and Eve to fill the earth and subdue it, what was meant?
What we have done with it?
1. he spoke to the perfect humans who needed nothing, had not built homes
Does "subdue" describe our worldview in America? Where we go and take all that we possibly want until it is all gone? As we are doing with oil, and land and every other thing that we seem to think that we want.
The Indian people subdued, but they also lived in harmoniously with the land and nature that they saw providing for them. They subdued, but did not destroy. The Western culture uses the term Subdue, and they say what they are doing is justified by God, but they do nothing but seriously destory the very land that provides for them. They take more than they need.
How do I combine my desire for people to connect with you and not force them as I do and have done with Amanda in the past? Have I domesticated myself in waiting for you to "give me my heart's desire?"
Father, am I afraid? Are you calling me out and me only merely resisting? I love you My Father, but am I blindly loving myself more? I want to badly to offer people freedom but I do not know how!
